As summer approaches, remember that it is illegal drive your 4-wheeler, dirt bike, or mini motorcycle on Tulsa streets or sidewalks. All motorized vehicles operating on Tulsa streets must be properly licensed. If your ATV, dirt bike or mini motorcycle does not have a license plate, it is illegal to drive it on city streets. You must have a driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle on city streets. That means anyone under 16 who is driving their bike in the neighborhood is breaking the law. Sidewalks are off limits too. Tulsa city ordinance prohibits anyone operating a vehicle on a sidewalk.

There are two times when children should cross 51st Street to the schools: between 7:30 -- 9:00 AM and 2:30 -- 4:00 PM. Children should always cross the street using the marked crossing (near the entrance for the cottages) with the assistance of the school crossing guard. Please Note: The crossing guard is not allowed to assist children with crossing outside of the approved time, shown above. If your child needs to be at school before 7:30, we would highly recommend that you drive them to the school to avoid having them cross 51st street without assistance. Our kids' safety is everyones' top concern. Traffic is really heavy on 51st Street, especially in the morning. Let's all watch out for the youngsters and support the school crossing guard in getting our kids to school safely.
